Our beach is the
closest beach community to an international airport
(Liberia) in the country – a twenty minute drive.

community of international expatriates and Costa Ricans.

courses within an hour’s drive of Chorotega Residential
Development
and more are planned and under construction.

portion of the Province of Guanacaste in an area designated by
the government as the tourist area for the country.

addition to the existing hotels, across the bay is the Four
Seasons hotel and golf resort community which will have
invested more than $100 million dollars in infrastructure by

in the country (no rain from November to May). Moderate
periodic rains fall during the months of May to September
followed by typically (although not always) heavier rain in

Is there good diving in your region?
Diving is this coast's specialty, there are 8 dive shops
within 12 km. radius. The one we prefer is Diving
Safaris. They are a 20 minute beach
walk away, offer more than 12 local dive sites and have special trips to
Catalina Island and Bat Islands. Rates for 2 tank dives are currently $75.00 p /
pers.
Is
Chorotega Residential Development close to town?
Playa Hermosa is a beach town, and the beach is the town.
There are 2 mini super markets, about 12 restaurants, a few bars, a church and a
school. All within walking distance. Playas del Coco, our neighboring town (6
km. by taxi $6.00) has more activity. There you will find more shops, more
restaurants, a disco, Sunday afternoon soccer games etc.
How do I get from the airport to
Chorotega Residential Development?
From Liberia:
Be
sure to ask your travel agent about direct flights to Liberia's Daniel Oduber
International Airport. Charter flight service is available from various U.S. and
Canadian cities. From Liberia Airport, lot of taxis are available to bring you
directly to PLaya Hermosa.
From San José:
Playa Hermosa is 270 km north of San
Jose's Juan Santamaria Airport. Depending on
your arrival time various options are available:
1. A 45 minute flight, brings you to Liberia airport
( Approx. $70.00 per person ) where you can be picked up by private taxi (20 minute
drive, $25.00). Let us know of your arrival flight number and time and we can
work out the details for you.
2. Public bus transportation from downtown San Jose to Playa Hermosa
leaves
at 3:10 p.m. everyday. The cost is $7.00. and the trip is 4 hours. This bus is
as direct as it gets, but do expect some stops on the way. You will need to ask
a taxi driver to take you to the "Coca Cola district" downtown and ask
for the "Esquivel bus station. Get off at the first entrance to Playa
Hermosa, and walk 800 meters to reach El Oasis Condominium and turn left and
walk 400 meters.
3. Private taxi transportation from San Jose to Playa Hermosa is $125.00
to $150.00 depending on the number of people.
